General notes

The following notices provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you use our app. We have kept data collection to a minimum. Personal data is any data that can be used to personally identify you.

Downloading the app

When downloading the app, the necessary information is transferred to the app store. These are in particular your user name, email address and customer number of your account, the time of download, the unique number of the end device (IMEI), the mobile phone number (MSISDN), the MAC address for WLAN use and the unique number of the network subscriber (IMSI). We have no influence on this data collection and are not responsible for it. We process the provided data as far as it is necessary for downloading the app to your smartphone. They are not stored further beyond that.

This data is collected within the app

When using the app, we do not collect any personal data to enable the functions of the app.
While using the app, we ask you for the following access rights and only for the following purpose:

  • Photo camera and gallery photos: This allows you to take photos of your teammates or upload them from the gallery to the app to display as small player icons. These are only stored locally on your device, we do not have access to this data. Of course, you may still deny access to the camera and gallery.
The player names you provide will only be stored locally, we will not have access to this data under any circumstances.

Transmission of your games

We also ask you to agree to us taking the data of anonymised game histories. If you decline this, no data will be transmitted to our database and any data (such as game settings or your game history) will only be stored locally on your device.
If you agree to game history recording, we will record the following data about your games and use it to analyse and improve the app:

  • As soon as you start a game, in case of your consent, the following data is recorded:
    • The cards used,
    • number of players,
    • the local date and time,
    • the game name,
    • game history (with anonymised player names!) and
    • the device ID of your terminal (so that we can delete the data associated with you upon request).
  • As soon as you reach the final screen, the following data will also be saved (also only with your consent)
    • the winning faction you enter, and
    • an updated version of the anonymised game history.

You can revoke your consent to the transmission of this data at any time in the settings (under Miscellaneous).
If you want to delete existing data linked to your device, please send us an email to datenschutz@werwolfapp.de.

The data will be stored by us indefinitely and, as mentioned, will be used to analyze the app (e.g. we are interested in how accurate our assessment of the individual cards is).
