Kill all Werewolves. Wakes up every night and learns if there is at least one werewolf among three neighboring people. Looses its ability if all three of them are non-werewolves
Detailed description
With its sensitive snout, the fox can sniff out if there are werewolves in a corner of the village. More specifically: It learns whether there is at least one werewolf among three neighboring living players. To do this, it wakes up every night and can point at a player, intending to get information about him/her and the two neighboring living players. The game master then points at the three people again to confirm this choice. If at least one of the three belongs to the werewolves, the game master displays a “werewolf” symbol, otherwise a “harmless” symbol is shown. Once the fox has found an innocent group of three, it loses its ability for the rest of the game.
Variants
1) The fox itself is excluded when determining the three players, so it must not point at itself.
Hints for the game master and further rules
Call the fox every night even after it has found three harmless people so the rest of the players do not know whether this has already happened.
Hints for using this in the app
During the fox phase, you may assign the attribute “Sniffed at”. If the players sit in the same order as in the app, you only need to tap at the player in the middle. The app will then check the neighboring players and show “At least one werwolf” or “Harmless” in full screen. In the game settings, you need to specify whether that is the case.
If they don’t sit in the correct order, you need to assign “Sniffed at” three times.
If all three sniffed at players are non-werewolves, the fox loses its ability but is still called for the next rounds. You can then show the loos of the ability in full screen.
Hints for you if you’re playing this character
After the first day you may have a feeling which corner might be infested with werewolves – maybe use your ability for another corner. The village has a huge advantage if they know three people that are harmless, but be careful – especially the wolf child and an infected player can distort your perception.
Interactions
- Owl: While the fox gains information about three players, the owl only sees whom the fox pointed at directly.
- Pyromaniac: The pyromaniac does not count as a werewolf for the fox.
- Opportunist: If the opportunist becomes a fox, she has its full abilities again, regardless of whether the previous fox had already lost them.
- Primeval wolf: Infected persons immediately count as werewolves for the fox.
- Werewolf: If the victim of the werewolves is among the three people the fox chooses, it still counts as a ‘living’ villager.
- Wolf child: The wolf child counts as a werewolf for the fox only after it has mutated. If its role model dies the same night that it is checked, it has not yet mutated.
- Wolf shaman: The fox detects a hidden werewolf as a villager and, if the other two it sniffs at are not werewolves, it also loses its ability by checking the three.
- Yeti: The yeti does not count as a werewolf for the fox.
