Protector

Goal:
Kill all werewolves. Wakes up each night and can protect someone from the attack of the werewolves, but not the same person for two nights in a row.

Detailed description

By painting a protective rune on a villager’s front door, the protector can save one person from the malicious attacks of the werewolves preventively each night.

Variants

1) Protection is so strong that it also protects against other causes of death during the night (like the potion of the witch).
2) The protected villager is publicly announced in the morning.

Hints for the game master and further rules

The protector may protect himself, but he may never protect the same person for two nights in a row. Nobody gets to know whom the protector has protected.

Hints for using this in the app

The person protected the night before automatically receives the attribute “Protected last night”.

Hints for you if you’re playing this character

Before you can derive any information from the discussions, it is worth protecting yourself or lover first.

Interactions

  • Blinking girl: If the blinking girl is visibly discovered by the werewolves while being protected, even the best protection is of no use; if she is then chosen as a victim, she dies.
  • Noble knight: If the noble knight is protected, he does not die, but he also does not kill a werewolf.
  • Lonesome wolf: The attacks of the lonesome wolf cannot harm a protected victim.
  • Trapper: If a person is protected while a trap is built in front of their house, they do not die.
Still, a werewolf will fall into the trap and the trapper looses her ability.
  • Big bad wolf: The attacks of the big bad wolf cannot harm a protected victim.
  • Witch: The witch also gets protected people shown as victims of the werewolves, so she can waste her healing potion here.
  • Mistress: If the protector protects the mistress directly, she is not at home and therefore not protected. However, if she spends the night with a protected person, both are protected.
  • Opportunist: If the opportunist becomes the protector, she may freely choose whom to protect the following night.
  • Actor: The actor may not choose a person to protect with whom he has done something the previous night.
  • Primeval wolf: If the primeval wolf tries to infect a protected person, the infection fails, but he does not lose his ability. As a variant, you can also play this so that the primeval Wolf then loses its ability.
  • Wise old man: If the wise old man simultaneously protects and falls victim to the werewolves while having his innate protection, he retains it.
